Have you heard of the BizOps Manifesto yet? If not, you better get on the bandwagon as the brightest minds in business and technology are getting behind it.   They are not just using BizOps in their businesses but they banded together to declare the BizOps Manifesto.  Before we introduce the BizOps Manifesto and its requirements, let's quickly answer "What is BizOps"?

Once common definition of BizOps is "a decision-support mechanism that helps to better connect business functions together and enable the smooth operation of a company."  To focus on business operations is to focus on how a business can seamlesly integrate it's various functions, assets, and capabilities to achieve long-term success.  Today's digital and cyber-economy forces us to zero in on relationsihp between business and technology.

Tom Davenport - accomplished author and distinguished professor - made this very clear when he responded to a question about the long term issues with how information technology works within a businesses:

"The long term problem is that we've had a poor connection between business people and IT people, between business objectives and the IT solutions that address them.  This has been going on since the beginning of information technology and, sadly, it hasn't gone away.  BizOps is a new attempt to deal with that issue."

- Tom Davenport

BizOps is an agile approach requiring organizations to extract insights from their data in real time, to quickly prioritize their goals, and to develop and deploy new solutions before the business landscape changes again.

"The BizOps Manifesto is a declaration of values and principles that serve to better align and continually improve software development and operations to the needs of a digital business, through a combination of technology, culture and communication."
